Spring Rolls

Written By: Chris - Mar• 26•12

Recently, Bill and I had to meet some friends of ours – after hours at the WEBCO Showroom herunterladen. (My day job) They are building a new house and we will be helping them with their structured cabling and security.  We had a little time to kill before they arrived and we needed a snack!  We wandered just down the road to an Asian place for an appetizer.  Always looking for options on the lighter side, we enjoyed steamed dumplings and thought the Fresh Spring Rolls looked pretty good!  The menu said were made with cooked shrimp, roasted pork, cilantro, lettuce, bean sprouts and rice noodles wrapped with rice paper and served with a peanut dipping sauce.  Well, I don’t think they had any lettuce or bean sprouts in them and we went easy on the peanut dipping sauce google tabellen download kostenlos!

My son Andrew is always talk about making spring rolls, so I thought we should give it a try.  I had to stop for a few of the ingredients because I didn’t have rice papers on hand!  I also figured I could add more vegetables and allow us each to pick and choose some of our favorites to roll up vavoo.to!

Ingredients:
Rice Papers
Fresh Spinach
Cucumber
Carrots
shredded Cabbage
Cleaned, peeled & deveined cooked Shrimp
I had a couple of large Prawns that we had grilled the night before that we cut up and also added.
Avocado
Yellow, Red & Orange Peppers
Green Onion
Cilantro
Sriracha hot sauce

Prepare various vegetables by cutting them julienne style.  The ideal julienne cut is about two inches long – any longer and it’s hard to get into your mouth! A sharp, non-serrated kitchen knife makes the best cuts quicktime player für mac download kostenlos. Avoid serrated knives, which “saw” through food.

Have a bowl of hot water for dipping rice paper available and assemble your work station with everything close and on hand prime video auf computer herunterladen.
Place softened sheet on a flat surface or plate

I used a glass plate, but you can see Andrew made his right on the counter top!  Arrange ingredients you prefer within your rice paper.  Don’t stuff too much, or the papers tear easily.  I had more of a problem then Drew, but he also said we’ll be looking for a better quality paper next time.  These ones were very thin skyp kostenlos herunterladen deutsch!
